When the cell emerged all the universes paused to wonder at the miracle. Layers of light — and the gods and goddesses presiding over these — had been attendant in its birth. Something of their being had participated in it. Something of their substance had been imparted into it.

Trillions of quantum-level multiverses dancing on an edge of light, and billions of atom-based equilibria chanting an endless and creative ode of 108-fold joy, participated in creating the fourfold molecular pathways that would embody a massive advance in a leap of Life.

The ever-present priest sat in ubiquitous trance within the bosom of his larger space-time-energy-gravity sister, aware that with the birth of the cell his raison d’etre was about to be tested, and his activity about to be raised a million-fold.

For this master foundation of all that was about to emerge, was not only the object of wonder of all manner of light-filled beings but also the sought-for prize of the titans of the dark. For whoever exercised their reign in this cellular world arisen from miracle, would apparently become the master of fourfoldness.

The light-beings sought for a continued play of fourfoldness which would invite greater and greater forms for them to not only incarnate into but perhaps even to continue to grow in. The titans of the dark, on the other hand, sought for control of fourfoldness with the spreading of fear and its attendant poisons of darkness in its wake. This would allow them to live — even undetected — and stamp their restricting influence in all living things.

The scene, hence, was set for an inevitable battle.
