Light arises in spite of darkness, and perhaps simply because darkness is a stance of light.

But the nature of the darkness can be overwhelming. Then even the matter that arises in acts of forbidden love has a nature such that it yields ultimately to the darkness.

But if the darkness begins to change its very nature so that it fundamentally tends more and more to the nature of light, then the matter created may not yield eventually to darkness. But that already suggests that the phenomenon of pralaya is over.

Legend suggests that six pralayas have occurred, and the current creation, the seventh, will not yield to darkness. But it is only through hidden knowledge being built up in the darkness that darkness ultimately allows that which stands behind it to become more ingrained in its substance.

Such manifestation means that the forms being manifested inherently want to choose light over darkness at the margin — in the small acts that occur in time.

But in the Last Pralaya — the one that as legend suggests preceded this creation — manifested matter must have been subject to a struggle between light and darkness such that light often got the upper hand, but eventually did yield to the darkness…

…Though not before the Hidden Knowledge had reached such a stage that the perpetual victory of light was close…
