# In Search of the Future Organization IX — Imperative of a Quantum-Like Core

In Mathematics of Organization, I introduced a powerful schema that informs the systems-canvas. The mathematical schema puts in context how EQ, PowersWithin, and Light change the mathematics of organization to animate subtlety and, in a manner of speaking, even confer the systems-canvas with prescience. This is especially timely, given that we have begun grappling with the quantum realm. The quantum realm, after all, is that which separates the visible from the invisible.

Put another way, as the invisible presses onto the visible, its potentiality may be lost or never materialize without a sophisticated enough canvas. To truly penetrate into the quantum realms and power the coming decades with extraordinary technology will require organizations to function differently so that noise and biases can more easily be overcome, receptivity to mystery increase, and deeper founts of creativity opened to.

Creating a systems-canvas—as presented in this series on the future organization—is an approach that has organically surfaced in my work with organizations. Yet, it can also be thought of as a preparation for the coming Quantum Age. To give the systems-canvas its full power, a special engine, a quantum-like core articulating more fully a quantum seed, around which the systems-canvas is perhaps even wrapped, will be required. The systems-canvas is completed with this quantum-like core.

# The Quantum Seed

This quantum seed is not the common seed that drives the development of the quantum computing industry today. That development is proceeding with surety: players know their goal and what they want to do. I am referring to *another seed* born of the travails of creating the mathematical model at the heart of the ten-book Cosmology of Light series. This seed is new and different, and therefore, many unknowns are associated with it. More than the common seed, it will require an organization animated by a systems-canvas of the type discussed in this series.

This seed is based on a fourfold symmetry emanating from four properties — Pr, Po, K, H — symbols that approximate our notions of ‘presence,’ ‘power,’ ‘knowledge,’ and ‘harmony,’ respectively, and that exist in a mathematical space where light is imagined traveling infinitely fast (as summarized by the top row of the matrix in the following illustration). Different species of *quantization* are related to the four source indices at the top of the matrix — Pr, Po, K, and H. *Superposition* becomes more precise as it relates subtle concepts in the higher layers of the matrix to physical seeds that populate the granularity of space in the lowest layer. Different kinds of *entanglement* related to each of the precipitating mathematical spaces also come into view.

This seed suggests a different developmental trajectory for the quantum computing industry. To shed some light on this quantum seed and its developmental trajectory I share a series of recent talks I delivered at prestigious institutes in the last three months. These include the Imperial College of Science and Technology, Cambridge University, and the Indian Institute of Management (Mumbai). The titles of the talks give a sense of what I am referring to:

## 1. Quaternary Interpretation of Quantum Dynamics

Mirror-version of a presentation delivered at Imperial College of Science & Technology, London, on April 3, 2024, released on #WorldQuantumDay. Suggests additional dynamics exist at the quantum level based on: i) reverse extrapolation of patterns in life and matter that must originate at the quantum levels; ii) a mathematical artifact created by imagining multiple light speeds. Fundamental properties implicit in light are quantized by the successive slowing down of light to slower constant speeds, and finally, at the speed c results first in space-time-energy-gravity and subsequently in fourfold structures that animate matter and life.

## 2. Fourfold Quantum-Based Source of Energy

This is a mirror version of a presentation delivered at Imperial College London on April 4, 2024, released today on #WorldQuantumDay. It proposes an untapped ubiquitous energy source — ‘organizing quantum energy’ (OQE). It suggests that OQE can be detected through material means, proposing capacitor chambers specifically designed to resonate with the unique essence of each of the four OQEs.The presentation is based on a paper to be published by Springer Nature. This new perspective on quantum energy opens avenues for further exploration and potential applications in various fields, including physics, chemistry, biology, systems engineering, and modeling.

## 3. An Ideal Pulsed Electromagnetic Device Based on a Multi-Dimensional Model of Light

This is a mirror version of a presentation delivered at Imperial College London on April 5, 2024. It proposes a framework to conceptualize the ideal Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) device by leveraging a fourfold, multidimensional, symmetrical light model. This device is not only proposed to exert a mechanical cascading effect on atoms, molecules, molecular plans, and cells, thereby initiating positive biological responses, but it would also both mechanically and architecturally leverage four functional aspects of multidimensional light — presence, power, knowledge, and harmony — to create an environment within which light’s transformative alchemy is more likely to be activated.

## 4. Exploring New Horizons in Quantum Computation: A Multi-Faceted View of the Double-Slit Experiment

This is a mirror version of a keynote delivered at Emmanuel College, Cambridge University, UKSIM2024, on March 26, 2024. When exploring different potential paths for quantum computing, revisiting the double-slit experiment is useful, as it helped initiate the study of quantum mechanics. This experiment shows how light can act as a wave and a particle. If you look at it from a bottom-up view, you see the basic ideas of superposition and entanglement, which are crucial for today’s quantum computing. However, a top-down view suggests that light’s “functional” properties could lead to other interpretations of these concepts, suggesting new directions for quantum computing.

## 5. Sensing the Emergence of New Structure in Matter and Life and its Impact on Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in a Light-Based Quantum Computational Model

This is a mirror version of a talk delivered at the Ninth International Congress on Information and Communication Technology (ICICT) in London on February 18, 2024. The ICICT talk was based on a paper titled “Sensing the Emergence of New Structure in Matter and Life and its Impact on Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in a Light-Based Quantum Computational Model.” To be published open-access by SpringerNature, this paper explores the cosmos as a complex adaptive system (CAS) modeled as a fourfold, symmetrical, light-based, and multi-layered structure in a state of persistent quantum computation. As conditions in the CAS change, this precipitates a change in the underlying mathematical model. The hypothesis is that sensing devices based on this model would naturally be more sensitive to target systems' changing physics, chemistry, and biology.

## 6. Genetics & Intent-Based Quantum Computation

This is a mirror version of a talk given at IIM-Mumbai on Feb 14, 2024. A futuristic view of what is possible with quantum computation based on an alternative trajectory of quantum computational development. This trajectory is based on a Quaternary Interpretation of Quantum Dynamics (QIQD) and ties genetic-type output to persistent quantum computation already conducted by natural quantum computers, such as atoms, molecular plans, and cells. The alternative trajectory suggests that modern quantum computers must integrate aspects of naturally occurring computers, as made visible by QIQD.

# The Creation of the Quantum Seed

This quantum seed's creation has resulted from several waves' rhythms.

The first wave involved an intense phase of writing a ten-volume mathematical treatise on light. The second wave continued with the writing of peer-reviewed IEEE articles to begin testing key concepts in the cosmology of light with academic audiences worldwide. The third wave focused on translating the concepts that sought to encapsulate a different trajectory for quantum computing into business-oriented Forbes articles. The fourth wave comprised a series of related Forbes quantum computing events to further test these concepts with a global set of tech executives, and the six recent academic talks.

The creation of the systems-canvas has taken decades, and the creation of the quantum seed years. The quantum seed is indicative of another path to quantum computation and remains at a very early stage. Giving the quantum seed justice and allowing it to truly flower will require an organization of the type run by the systems-canvas. One could even say that the systems-canvas is incomplete without such a quantum-like core that the canvas will articulate. Then, the two will proceed hand-in-hand, each fulfilling the other and the imperative of the quantum-like core finally understood.
