A Second Quantum Computational Agenda
As per the Copenhagen Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics, a quantum-object can hold infinite possible values until measured, at which point it collapses into a measurable value. In this point of view, then, the quantum realm is a black box and its dynamics simply cannot be known by direct measurement.
This implies that even the three pillars of modern-day quantum computation — namely superposition & entanglement, as interpreted, and the probabilistic view of Nature — can not quite be corroborated, and equally, can be interpreted differently hence giving rise to one or more different trajectories of quantum computing than being followed by industry leaders such as IBM, Google, Microsoft, Intel, Quantinuum, amongst others.
It is precisely such an alternative interpretation that I again emphasized in the fifth Forbes Technology Council Quantum Computing event held on January 24, 2024 (live recording and slides):
Key areas covered were the following:
- Modeling of the quantum realm by approaching it from the top-down and the bottom-up. A top-down view looks at structure across layers of matter and life, suggests a normalized pattern that cuts across these layers, and intuits that the origin of this fractal pattern must exist in root form at the quantum levels. A bottom-up view considers imaginary layers of light, intuits properties, and symmetrical renderings of these, to arrive at the root pattern that must animate matter and life as it surfaces from the quantum realms.
- A Quaternary Interpretation of Quantum (QIQuantum) dynamics — the result of ‘seeing’ the quantum realm from the top-down and bottom-up as described.
- Extrapolation of new quantum technologies based on the Quaternary Interpretation of Quantum Dynamics aka QIQuantum.
- The power of QI relative to AI, where QI — Quantum Intelligence — is native to the quantum levels and is suggested by the increasingly more sophisticated vehicles of intelligence (aka atoms, molecules, molecular plans, cells, and so on) that progressively rise from the quantum levels.
- The development of a different type of quantum computer — an ‘Integrated Quantum Computational Intelligence (IQCI) Nano-Cyborg’ — that sees, reads, organically responds to, and can even influence patterns at the quantum levels.
QIQuantum gives rise to a second quantum computational agenda beyond that currently being pursued by industry leaders. As this agenda flowers, atoms, molecules, molecular plans, and cells, will be seen as naturally occurring quantum computers subject to a fourfold quantum-object code. As mastery over reading and leveraging this genetic-type code increases this will result in revolutionary developments in material sciences and medical technology. As IQCI nano-cyborgs are developed this will provide access to an inexhaustible energy source at the quantum realms and provide new possibilities for space travel. IQCI nano-cyborgs will also provide the means to create quantum-level feedback loops, generate new quantum patterns, and leverage quantum properties beyond those of superposition, entanglement, annealing, and tunneling.
As mentioned in yesterday’s Forbes event (and in the YouTube version above), the suggestions that contribute to this second agenda are based on a series of layered writings that: i) began with a ten-volume mathematical treatise on light; ii) continued with peer-reviewed IEEE articles; iii) has culminated in a series of more recent Forbes articles.

The existing trajectory of quantum computation has deep roots in a decades-long framework nurtured by academia. That ship set sail a century ago and today has become a veritable force as it continually attracts more industry leaders and governments. It is in contrast to this that I offer an alternative view and suggest a second quantum computational agenda. Today, perhaps, it is for the few and the brave and it is these individuals, organizations, and governments that I invite to join me now on a bold journey powered by QIQuantum engines to newly discover the riches and vast potential of the invisible.
